#17 MENU, PLEASE?

It’s the battle I’ve faced most of my life. The thing I love more than anything in the world, that was engrained so deeply in my culture and something that I love sharing with my loved ones…my favourite four letter f word…..Food.

There’s things about Food that I love and things about my love for food that I have used as comfort for other things. This episode, we feast…on all the thought forms are we need to cultivate health and happiness.

MONDAY MOCHA WITH LIZ VASSEY

On the seventh Monday Mocha show, we head to the Hollywood Hills and chat to long time actress, Liz Vassey. I first watched her as “Lou,” on Brotherly Love and since then she has graced our scenes playing many a character in Nikki & Nora, CSI and Two and A Half Men to name a Few.

“Sometimes the best relationships aren’t the longest. You come into this world, find your tribe and sometimes you learn what you’re supposed to learn. As long as you’re acting the way you think is best and are good to others.”

This week, we hit the Hollywood Hills to chat to actress and writer Liz Vassey. Currently, Liz is crowd funding for her latest project – The Human Race Documentary. She is nearly at her goal. Click here to support her.

#16 APPROVED

As kids who enter the world and go through brand new experiences, the memories we form pave the way to our beliefs about ourselves. Generally speaking, a lot of these beliefs evolve around how much we want to be liked – how much we want that fellow human approval. After all, it’s apart of humanity to want to relate and connect with our own species. The issues that arise from this need for approval is that we compromise so much of our own inner voice and needs and fill our minds and energies with resentment.

Oprah calls it the “disease to please,” and when we place ourselves in a position to seek approval or behave in a way just so others will like us, over time resentment builds.

This episode goes through the patterns around approval and where these usually form – home and school; the things we do so that our parents and the cool kids at school like us.

MONDAY MOCHA WITH TODD SEARS

It’s the sixth Monday Mocha podcast show. I have loved the diversity in guests that I’ve had the honour of spending time with.  One of the reasons why I wanted to start this particular series is to help change the attitude and resistance we have towards Monday which is essentially the mentality we go into the week with. By chatting to an inspiring individual, taking time out to have a coffee or a break – it’s a good way to ease into your week.

“I think friendships can be cyclical based off where you are in your life. True friends understand how I care about them. You may not see them for weeks at a time, but you pick up where you left off. “

This week, we take a trip into the finance world and take a trip down Wall Street to have a chat with banker, LGBT equality entrepreneur and founder of Out Leadership – Todd Sears. Find out how he thinks Australian coffee compares to American coffee and how many times he hits the snooze button before he wakes up.

#15 EXCUSE…..ME?

Are you liking The Ginni Show? It would mean the world to me if you gave it five stars. Click here to leave your review.

Now..onto this episode. Are you constantly told that you’re getting in the way of yourself? And then it’s hard to understand what that actually means?

What is it about you that is getting in the way of yourself? What are some of the thought patterns, beliefs and behaviours we subconsciously engage in or are programmed within us that stops us from living the happiest and healthiest life we could?

This podcast is a little more serious but I’m also on the lookout to bring as much JOY as I can so am always finding ways to do so.

#14 HAPPINESS IS ICE CREAM. OR IS IT?

Are you happy? What are some of the things about you that make you happy? And in your life that make you happy?

Sometimes happiness is a projection of what others predicate for us. These others can be anyone from our parents, grandparents, teachers, cousins to our school peers. We find ourselves trying to squeeze into a mould that simply isn’t made for us. This applies to almost everything about us. The way we think, the way we behave, what we do and don’t do. It’s interesting how much this projection is a loud tape recorder in our heads.

This episode, we delve into why sometimes what we feel makes us happiness, is the very thing that leads us to unhappiness.

#13 BREAK THE FUNK

How are you? No really, how are you? I think sometimes, that phrase is used quite flippantly as a way to start a conversation rather than make it the focus of the conversation.

If we were actually using the phrase, “How are you,” and paying extra attention to the response, then the need for a day where you ask people how they are and make it your focus wouldn’t be necessary.

If we’re aware of ourselves more and how we feel, we’re aware of others and how they feel. It becomes difficult to navigate through our emotions, our day to day thoughts, our pre existing though patterns if we lack that very thing; self awareness.

It’s the key to many openings – your strengths, your weaknesses, what you need to work on, what makes you happen, what you need. If you’re self aware, you are well on your way to authentic power.

In a lot of the podcasts I do, I encourage everyone to take time out of their day for themselves. To spend with themselves. I truly want everyone to get to know the essence of how they are, and that takes time and focus. This can be done through meditation, or if that’s not your flavour, sports, reading or just sitting in silence for 30 minutes. It’s perhaps the most important tool you will have.

This episode is a little different to others. I’ve taken a more “serious,” tone to it because I’m serious about you living the happiest life possible for you.

#11 VENTING OR B*&CHING?

There’s really nothing like a good vent. It’s the start of a process to a solution. But many of us start that process and just stay at the step of venting which can leads to loads of negativity and frustration – especially when others don’t agree with our point of view.

In the episode, we explore the themes of the fine line between venting and b*&ching and the ways we can express how we feel in a way that seeks a solution rather than approval.

MONDAY MOCHA WITH CLAUDE SILVER

Kicking of the first of The Monday Mocha Series today. It’s a chance to have a break from my Aunties, Ammi and 170 cousins and hear the journey of an inspiring individual from some part of the world. As you all know, I love talking. A lot. It’s very apparent with the regular Wednesday podcasts. The reason for starting the Monday Mocha podcast is that through the teachings and lessons I have the privilege of sharing with you every week that have come from my teachers; I am still a student in pursuit of more knowledge, self awareness and tools to cultivate more of the good things we need more of in this world. Each Monday, I’ll be having a chat to a guest who has much wisdom to share that we can all benefit from – to light up our day that little bit brighter.

It will literally feel like you’re sitting right there, having coffee with us. So c’mon, let’s have a Mocha!

Side note – I know my Melbourne peeps are probably throwing me a bit of shade and judgement with their coffee palates. I hear you. But I stand true to the fact that a Mocha is a REAL coffee.

“I would rather teach and coach someone to take up space in the room and be big in the room than dealing with a fearful ego.”

My first guest is the world’s first Chief Heart Officer – Claude Silver. She’s not quite the conventional Heart Surgeon as her title may imply, but her procedural and operating skills on the heart have a different kind of touch to the scalpel and defribulator. Claude’s role is to assist in building the best human empire in the history of time by building a space where employees feel physically and psychologically safe to be their best selves. She coaches and guides to touch the lives of those who work at VaynerMedia – one of the hottest digital agencies in the world, each and every day.

#10 NO SPEAK ENGLISH

When door to door salesmen or Jehovas Witness’ would knock on our door, instead of engaging in the conversation and assertively saying, “No, Thank you,” in speaking her truth, Ammi used to just claim that she, “No Speak English.”

I’ve found that daily, there are situations that can bring us discomfort and that yucky feeling of unease when the universe presents us with a situation or circumstance to actually speak up in line with our “truth.”

Now, people get a little funny and think I’m saying “Thou shalt speak your truth,” in such a tone. I’m not that fancy. When I say, “speak your truth,” I’m referring to speaking up about how you really feel. Assertively, empoweringly and honestly in the context of a particular situation.

Last season, you wantedI additional tips would be beneficial to your journey so I’ve included in a few in this episode too. Oh and yes, Ammi, my aunties and my 170 cousins will be making frequent guest appearances.
